MJ

When MJ first joined GOODWILL® in April 2022, he faced significant challenges. Lacking a driver’s license and essential employment skills, he was in a vulnerable position with limited opportunities. Despite these obstacles, MJ’s determination and the support of his case manager paved the way for a remarkable transformation; obtaining his driver’s license, GED, welder’s certification, and full-time employment!

Veda D.

Veda D.

When Veda joined our CCMEP TANF program, she experienced a lack of job opportunities and childcare consistency. Through Goodwill Supportive Services, we were able to connect her with childcare services that gave her the time to pursue a fulfilling career. Veda moved on to obtain a certification in CNC Machining from the WCSCC.

We have been proud to see Veda become an active participant in our programs, find the support services that best support her career goals, and move on to achieve an in-demand certification that will lead to successful employment.

Caner H.

Caner H.

Caner is truly an inspiration for members of our ABAWD program! When Caner joined our program, he struggled to become interested in obtaining employment, unable to find a career path that excited him. But when he found the right opportunity, his Case Manager was able to help him with the requirements, paperwork, and math aspects of the position, and Caner found a meaningful career!

Our team loved seeing Caner find his calling and grow his confidence — his smile says more than words ever could. If Caner continues to work hard, there are no limits to the independence and success he can accomplish!

Caner’s Story

Robert M.

Robert M.

Robert was referred in 2022 for Job Development Services. He was working at the time but wanted to get out in the community more, and needed assistance preparing for an interview and obtaining/maintaining competitive employment. While working at Goodwill, Robert applied to several positions and attended several interviews for stocking/bagging jobs, and obtained employment at Meijer.

Robert’s supervisor continues to mention how lucky their team is to have Robert! He always goes the extra mile for customers and pushes himself to meet his goals. Through Job Development Services, Robert was able to find lasting and enjoyable employment.

As we celebrate the achievements of our program participants, we extend our deepest gratitude to you, our valued donors. Your contributions make success stories possible, transforming lives and strengthening the fabric of our community. GOODWILL INDUSTRIES® of Wayne and Holmes Counties invites you to be a part of this transformative journey.
